Story of CoFounder Holly Hayworth 
“I was sitting in the cancer ward of the hospital awaiting my own appointment when a precious little girl about 4 or 5 years old came up to me. She had no hair or eye brows but had beautiful eyes. She was tiny in stature and had a sweet way about her. She asked me what kind of cancer did I have? In which I responded “I have breast cancer”. The young child looked at me and said "I have Leukemia."
Tucked under her arm was a little Teddy Bear. She proceeded to introduce her little friend to me...just so happens his name was Frankie and he was a very special little bear. Not only was he a special little bear but he was being carried around by a very special little girl. You see this Bear was not only this little child’s companion in her time of need, but she shared him with other children that were afraid, and needed a friend in their time of need. I got to thinking about this wonderful little life and her small little friend she carried under her arm and it came to me that every child fighting this awful disease needs their very own Bear or "Stuffed Friend".
We never know what life can bring...we do know that having something of our very own to cling to when we are afraid or scared, something or some one that takes the hurt and pain away even if its just for a little while...can make hard things a little bit more "Bearable". Give the blessing of friendship...please give a child a bear or stuffed friend. Thank you for all the donations that have been sent so far!
